I’ve been waiting to blog this wedding for ages! It was featured in Eco Beautiful Weddings Summer edition Magazine, so I needed to wait until it was released to unleash all this goodness this wedding had to offer (Go to page 70 for the feature). What an honor it was to be asked to document Kristen and Todd’s wedding! Kristen is a long time friend of my husband’s, from UC Santa Cruz where we all went to college together. Kristen had a great vision for her wedding: to be Eco Friendly, nature inspired, and full DIY. She captured it perfectly! She set the ceremony in the midst of redwoods behind the Mill Valley Library at the Ampitheater at Old Mill Park. Her wedding day was not just witnessed by close family and friends, but actually created by and with her family and friends. From the colored hangings in the ceremony, to the bouquets and centerpieces, to the homemade desserts to the amazing hand made decorations at the reception, they were all created with great TLC by those that love Kristen and Todd most. To bring it all together, Kristen chose an officiant who was an author that she loved, Daphne Kingma. She had her dress handmade with natural fibers by Jinza Couture Bridal and her jewelry handmade by Mabel Chong. One of the best DIY things I’ve ever seen was her ring pillow. Kristen’s mom took pieces of her own wedding dress to create the ring pillow, what a beautiful addition! Kristen had her bridesmaids choose their own dresses, which allowed for a vibrant collection of colors to pop against the tall redwood backdrop. Such a dramatic scene for such a beautiful couple. And the reception held at the Outdoor Art Club was littered with fun things to take pics of; placecards made from wildflower seeds (made by Botanical Paperworks), meatballs made from lamb that grew on their farm, an oyster shucker, bluegrass band, arranged flowers from their farm, it goes on and on. And ooh boy, that girl can dance! I had a great time hanging in the woods and documenting the sweet love between these two. Much love to you guys, I look forward to many years of friendship ahead! xoxox

The coolest place card arrangement ever!

The name tags and placecards were printed on paper imbedded with wildflower seeds so you could take them home and plant them!
